Unofficial Scanner Information

Scanner audio and information derived from radio traffic may be delayed, incomplete, unclear, incorrect, interrupted, or misunderstood. Situations can change quickly, and radio traffic may provide only part of the circumstances surrounding an incident. Information provided by Alabama Scanner should not be treated as official confirmation or used in place of information released by the appropriate agency.

Responsible Use

Do not use Alabama Scanner to interfere with emergency responders, obstruct public-safety operations, enter restricted areas, approach active scenes for sightseeing, identify private individuals involved in incidents, reveal sensitive information, or spread rumors, accusations, or unverified claims. If you are near an active incident, remain in lawful public areas, follow instructions from responders, and keep a safe distance. Information made available by Alabama Scanner is intended for public awareness and should be used responsibly.

Emergencies

Alabama Scanner is not monitored as an emergency contact method and cannot dispatch emergency services. In an emergency, call 911 or contact the appropriate local agency through its official channels.

Use of the Site

By accessing Alabama Scanner, you understand that scanner audio, transcripts, incident summaries, recent activity, maps, codes, alerts, and related information are provided for general informational purposes and may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for how you use information obtained through the service.

Alabama Scanner does not claim ownership of third-party materials, public records, government information, or other content for which Alabama Scanner does not hold the applicable rights.

Community & Social Media

Alabama Scanner's social media pages are publicly viewable but remain moderated community spaces operated by Alabama Scanner. Public access does not guarantee an unrestricted right to post, comment, or participate.

Comments or other submissions may be hidden or removed when they identify private individuals, speculate about deaths, injuries, fault, criminal activity, or other unconfirmed circumstances, disclose private or sensitive information, interfere with an active incident, spread misinformation, harass others, impersonate another person or organization, contain spam, or otherwise disrupt the purpose of the page.

Alabama Scanner may hide or remove comments, restrict participation, or block accounts when reasonably necessary to protect privacy, maintain accurate information, prevent disruption, or enforce these standards. Moderation decisions may be made without prior notice or individual explanation.
